Chapter Nine - A New Goddess Religion
Over many centuries Christian theologises created the concept that God is; omnipresent (Present everywhere), omnipotent, (unlimited power), omniscient (infinite knowledge) and omnibenevolent (infinite benevolence). These words are not in the Bible, unless put there by a translator, because they are Latin words and the Bible was originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. But what these Latin words say is that God is everywhere and in everything, has unlimited power, knowledge wisdom, and loves us all unconditionally.
This cannot be an Old Testament God or any sort of male God. Because omni in Latin means; everywhere or everything. So by saying that God is in everything, suggests one mind, one spirit. Oneness cannot be masculine, because it is competitive and aggressive. This means a male God that is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and omnibenevolent. Will have nothing to compete or fight against. Unless he attempts to fight against the sea of chaos, which will create even more chaos and will end up being overwhelmed by the chaos he creates.
The feminine is all about love and through unconditional love a female God can unite the whole cosmos in harmony. This is why unconditional love in the ultimate power in the cosmos, because only unconditional love can unite us all. A masculine God cannot do this, it can try to unite everyone through force, intimidation and threats punishment but that is not true unity. In the end there will be some sort of rebellion and there will be conflict. As we can read in the Bible when Lucifer challenged the authority of God, but was defeated.
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thy heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14: 12–15 — Webster’s Bible Translation.
We also find something similar in Revelation.
7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels [going forth] to war with the dragon; and the dragon warred and his angels;
8 And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him.
Revelation 12: 7 – 9 American Standard Version.
This is true of other religions like Hinduism where there are many stories of the war in heaven between the Devas (gods) and Asuras (demons). We also see the same in Norse mythology where the Gods fight each other in the Æsir–Vanir War. Or ancient Greek mythology of the war between the Olympians led by Zeus against the Titans led by Cronus. It’s true we have Goddesses fight in these wars, but a pantheon of different Gods and Goddesses is unlike the ancient Great Mother. Who is the One, and unite us all in unconditional love. So love is the feminine power and it’s power comes from it’s ability to unite us all. Whereas masculine power is the power to destroy which finally leads to chaos.
When we look at our world and see the problems we have like, wars, genocide. crime, violence, dishonestly and exploitation. But there is one thing that can solve all these problems and that is love. So it would makes sense for all of us to learn about love. This wouldn’t be a problem for most women but many men still have problems with it. Because learning to be loving, would make them feel unmanly, soft and weak. They would see a loving man like Jesus, as not a true masculine man but as a emasculated pushover.
It should be obvious that the type of people we want to rule our world, would be intelligent and loving people who care about the people they rule. So why can’t we have a system like this? The reason is that we live in a male dominated society that reflects masculine values of aggression and competition. So when aggressive and competitive people rule our world, it is not surprising to have conflict, warfare and a huge gap between rich and poor. A society like this, not only encourages men to be unloving and selfish but also trains women to be like this as well. So perhaps we need a religion that is serious about teaching people how to love. Unlike Christianity, which although Jesus does teach love, not all Christians take his teachings seriously.
But a religion that claims that God is female and has a female priesthood of only women, would be opposed by feminists. Who will probably use sex discrimination legislation against a religion like this. So why would feminists be opposed to a religion like this? The reason goes back to a book called: A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, by Mary Wollstonecraft, published in 1792. At the time, women had very few rights, and men justified this oppression of women by claiming that it was right that men should rule the world. Because men were far more intelligence, competent and sensible than women. So Mary Wollstonecraft, to counter these claims, had to argue in her book that women were as just as intelligent and competent as what men were.
Then, in the 19th century male scientists, made scientific claims that women had smaller brains than men and therefore were not as intelligent. They also claimed women were far too emotional to make sensible decisions. (Like the “sensible” decisions male rulers make, in starting wars and committing genocide). So women to contradict these claims of male superiority, used the arguments of Mary Wollstonecraft. And they were successful, as feminists won women the right to be educated, and later on, the right to vote, in the early 20th century. Then in 1960s the Women’s Liberation Movement won women the right for equal opportunities. So for Feminists, Mary Wollstonecraft’s book has become the foundation of feminism. Because the argument for equal rights has greatly empowered women. But feminists have taken Mary Wollstonecraft arguments to mean that men and women are the same, which is clearly not true.
This means that a Goddess religion will not only be opposed by patriarchal religions but also by feminists who claim that sexual equality is what they want. So if we have a religion that says; God is a woman and has a female priesthood. In the spirit of sexual equality, feminists will claim we should have a male and female God and have both male and female priests. Because men and women are the same. But this concept was challenged in 1953 with the publication of the book; The Natural Superiority of Women, by Ashley Montagu. Some commentators claim this is a feminist book, but many feminist don’t like it, as it undermines the sameness of men and women. But it becomes difficult to argue against the book because the author is both a biologist and a anthropologist. So he could support what he says, with scientific evidence.
Then in 1989, another book was published called; Brain Sex, by Ann Moir and David Jessel. Which is about how the brains of men and women are very different. Again this is a scientific book so it’s hard to argue against its conclusions. But the book that is most popular on this subject was published in 1992 called; Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, by John Gray. In this book John Gray claims that men and women are so different, it’s like they come from different planets. Which is similar to what I’m trying to say. Except I’m saying that women come from the Great Mother, while men come from the sea of chaos. But John Gray’s allegory has become very popular because the publisher HarperCollins claimed the sales figures exceeding 50 million copies. Probably because too many people know that the feminist idea, that men and women are the same, is not true. Another book published in 1998, about this subject was: Why Men Don't Listen and Women Can't Read Maps: How We're Different and What to Do About It, by Allan Pease and Barbara Pease. Which again is a very popular book.
Feminists have criticised these books, claiming they perpetuate gender stereotypes. Yet, just because they show that men and women are different, it doesn’t necessary mean that women are inferior to men. This was the point made by Ashley Montagu, that many of the biological differences between men and women, made women superior to men. For instance women have two X chromosomes whereas men only have one. Also women have a more powerful immune system. These advantage allow women to live longer than men and have less illnesses. Montagu also points out that women excel in kindness, cooperation, and mutual aid.
So although feminists may object to a religion that has a female God and female priesthood, not everyone agrees with this. After all, we have had for thousands of years of religions who claim God is a man and only have an exclusive male priesthood. Also, if feminists took a Goddess religion to court on the basis of sex discrimination. They would also have to do the same with the Roman Catholic Church and Islam. As both organizations believe in a exclusive male God and claim only men can be priests, or teach in Mosques. So it would be a case of sexual bias, if a Goddess religion was charged with sexual discrimination for saying God is a woman and has a female priesthood. While other religions that are saying God is a man and only allow men to be priests or teachers in their religions; are not charged with sexual discrimination.
But a Goddess religion is needed because, unfortunately, hardly any patriarchal religions teach love. Although Christianity is a religion that supposed to teach love, it doesn’t always do this. And the main reason for this, is that it has male God and had up until very recently, a male priesthood. But if we want a religion that does teach love, then we need to accept God is a woman and have a female priesthood. This is because women are far more loving people than men. So women would always be far better teachers of love, than men.
But men would need a reason why they want to learn how to love. And this is why Goddess theology is so important. If we accept that God is female and gives us unconditional love, and the only way we can be one with her, is by learning how to love. So then men have a reason to want to learn how to love. So they can be protected by her and not be in danger of being adsorbed back into chaos, after they die. Yet men can also be frightened of the Great Mother. An example of this, is video I saw on the Internet about a Near Death Experience.
This was about the experience of a surfer who was pulled underwater by a large wave while surfing and was drowning. He then experienced the usual thing of NDEs of going down a long tunnel and on the other side he came into a beautiful garden and met spiritual beings who welcomed him. He was then shown to another garden where he met other angelic beings who were also welcoming but as he approached them, he said; “he felt like a raindrop returning the ocean”. The moment he thought this, he became frightened didn’t want to go further. Then the next moment he found himself back in his body, fighting for his life underwater and somehow managed to fight his way back to the surface and save himself.
A week later I told this story to a female friend of mine and when I got to the part where the surfer said; “he felt like a raindrop returning to the ocean”. She said, “How beautiful, what a wonderful story.” The idea of just being a raindrop returning to the ocean, didn’t faze her, like it did the surfer, or most other men. This illustrates just how different men and women are. Returning to the Oneness of the Great Mother might seem wonderful to women. But men fear this because they think they will lose their individually. This is probably because of a lack of understanding of the true nature of love. True love is unconditional and will never force anything onto anyone and will always respect a person’s individuality and freewill.
The fear men have of Oneness is also demonstrated in the Star-Trek Sci-fi TV series with the concept of the Borg. For those who are not interested in Science Fiction; in the Star-Trek series, the Borg is a collection of different species with a hive mind. That then forcefully assimilate other intelligent species into it, so they also become part of the collective. The Star-Trek series make this seem worse than the dystopian nightmare of 1984 by George Orwell. But the concept of the Borg in this TV series is a masculine form of Oneness. Because it forces people to become part of the hive mind against their will. This is totally different to the Great Mother who is totally feminine and souls unite together in Oneness through unconditional love. This means souls have freedom and are not forced to do anything. And so they can retain their individuality and are even free to leave the One, if they want to.
This might explain why The Great Mother designed our world to suit men and not women. She has given men all the physical advantages of greater size and strength, compared with women. Which men have used to dominate and control women and rule the planet. This suggests the Great Mother did this because she knows male souls fear the oneness of the Great Mother, as much as being swallowed up in the sea of chaos. For that reason, had the Great Mother designed a planet that was a paradise of love and harmony, ruled by women. Very few male souls would want to come to a planet like that, as they fear Oneness. Because they do not yet understand the nature of unconditional love.
Which also suggests that male souls prefer a more chaotic planet ruled by men. This is because they come from chaos and know and understand it, and therefore feel more in tune with that. A loving planet of compassion and harmony, they would not understand and would be repelled by it. So the Great Mother had to design a planet to suit men, so male souls would feel more at home living here. I have mentioned a few times in this book, we all would be better off if women rule the world. But this may not be what the Great Mother wants. This is a planet designed for men, to learn how to love. If new male souls coming out of the sea of chaos are repelled by a loving and caring planet ruled by women and don’t wish to live here. Then the planet has lost it’s main purpose for existing.
But then there is the problem of nuclear war. The Great Mother might have to allow women to rule the world, to prevent men fighting a nuclear war. Or misuse other forms of advance technology to destroy the planet. So if women do take over, then matriarchal governments can also help women to make it easier for them to teach men how to love. For all of recorded history, patriarchal religions or governments have no interest in teaching men to love, nor make it easy for women to do this. For instance Islamic laws encourages gender segregation because they fear women’s influence on men. Probably because they might teach men to be “unmanly” by teaching them how to be more loving people.
So although matriarchal governments and religions are unlikely to give women medals for attempting to teach psychopaths how to love. They will do their best to give these women some form of protection in doing this very dangerous task. The main reason why women learn to hate men, is when men use patriarchal laws and customs to force women to do things without her consent. So a women can give a abusive man unconditional love and consent to his abuse. But if it gets too much, then her love for him will wane. Then because she no longer loves him, this abuse will no longer be consensual. That would be the time, she needs to get out of the relationship. But if the man using patriarchal privilege, forces her to stay with him. It means she will be abused without her consent and through this learn to hate him. But in a matriarchal society or religion, then safeguards can be put into place, to make it easy for any women to leave an abusive man. Or at least, give women a break when having to deal with men like this, gets too much for her.
So even if we were to have matriarchal governments and religions. It won’t change the relationship between men and women. Simply because the main purpose of this planet is to teach men how to love and women will be their teachers. Which means this will continue, no matter what government or religion we have. Which means we will always living in a chaotic planet while new male souls from the sea of chaos keeps on coming to our planet and needs to learn how to love. The degree our world is a chaotic masculine planet, we can see in the entertainment industry. If anyone was to write a story of a loving world of harmony where everyone has unconditional love for each other. Very few people would want to read a story like that and claim it’s too boring. But write a story about crime, murder, war or a dysfunctional family, then people will be far more interested.
It’s true there are books that do give a positive view on life, the most well-known is Pollyanna by Eleanor H. Porter. But books like that are in the minority. Mary Baker Eddy recognized this problem and started a newspaper called; The Christian Science Monitor, that only reported good news. Because of this, it has a reputation of being; reliable but unexciting, and has been outsold by lurid publications that report mostly on crimes and sex scandals.
We even find this is romantic fiction for women. A story of a man and women falling in love and then live happy ever after, is unlikely to be interesting to most people. Somewhere in the story there has to be a problem or a misunderstanding, where the couple argue or are separated. To make the story entertaining. Although romantic fiction has been criticized because some of the men in these stories are cruel abusive men. Like Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë. Or, The Sheik by Edith Maude Hull which was made into a film starring Rudolph Valentino. Where the Sheik, kidnaps and rapes the heroine, Lady Diana Mayo, who then falls in love with him. This seemed to be a story about the “Stockholm syndrome” before it was called that.
Then more recently there is; Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James. This is a romantic book about sadomasochism, which has become a best seller and also made into a film. Although this is not the first sadomasochistic romantic story. Back in 1954 there was a French book called: Story Of O, by Pauline Reage. Which was another best seller and also a film was made of the story. Then, there is the spanking Christian romance, genre. These are books about women being spanked within Christian setting. These books are linked to the Christian Domestic Discipline organizations. Although, not all women like these romantic stories and some are very critical of the behaviour of the romantic hero. I came across an article about this called: The Romanticizing of Domestic Violence in Literature. On a web-site called; Domestic Violence Services Network, Inc. To quote from the article:
It is easy for the reader to identify toxic behaviour when the abuser is the villain of the story, or at least the rival to the romantic hero. But what about when the abuser is the romantic hero? Abusive and controlling behaviour is often portrayed as an expression of love and, therefore, desirable. It is “romanticized” into something positive that the reader should root for and idealize in their own relationships. In addition, the victim is often shown as loving or forgiving for sticking with or taking back an abusive partner.
Another criticism of romantic fiction is that the hero is generally a very wealthy man, which makes it seem that women are mercenary in their desires. Except that many of these men are not nice men and are called, “Byronic heroes”. (Named after Lord Byron). Who are “bad boys”, which the heroine attempts to tame. Trying to teach a unloving man how to love is a really tough job. So women who have these desires, would probably prefer to do this with a rich unloving man than a poor unloving man. Because at least she has the compensation of the privileges of wealth, while she is doing this. Which suggests that these women are not as totally masochistic in their desires, as people might think. Also, as previously mentioned, there are a lot of rich men who are psychopaths, and so are needing to learn how to love.
But does romantic fiction confirm what psychologists use to say; that all women are masochistic? Not completely, because not all romantic fiction heroes are; mad, bad and dangerous to know. For instance in the book; Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, her hero Mr Darcy starts off as a proud and arrogance man. But under the influence of Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine, he becomes a more agreeable and kinder person. So it is a story of a women teaching a man how to be a more loving person. But the heroine in this story is certainly not submissive or masochistic. We see this when Darcy first proposed to Elizabeth Bennet, it led to a heated argument, where Elizabeth rejects his proposal. So to get her to change her mind, Darcy had to change and learn not to be so arrogant.
Another interesting point is that the villain of the story; Mr Wickham, would in a normal story, be punished in some way at the end. But not in this story, he is saved by Mr Darcy who pays a lot of money to pay off his debts and set him up as a officer in the army. Even though Mr Wickham had tried to seduce and ruin his sister and told lies about Darcy to Elizabeth Bennet. This reflects unconditional love of the Great Mother, who loves us all, no matter who we are.
So the lesson of this story is that love doesn’t have to be masochistic or sacrificial. A woman can also teach love, not by surrendering to him and allowing him to use and abuse her. She can teach by standing her ground and force him to win her love by becoming a more loving person. But that is only possible if the man is able to love the woman deeply. If the man is a psychopath and is incapable of love, then this wouldn’t have worked. Unfortunately, teaching a psychopath how to love is really very difficult. I look up psychopaths on the internet and this is what I got:
A person with a personality disorder indicated by a pattern of lying, cunning, manipulating, glibness, exploiting, heedlessness, arrogance, delusions of grandeur, sexual promiscuity, low self-control, disregard for morality, lack of acceptance of responsibility, callousness, and lack of empathy and remorse. Such an individual may be especially prone to violent and criminal offens.
This is what a woman has to put up with, if she wants to teach a psychopath how to love. As the only way she can teach a man like this, what love is, is by demonstrating it to him, by giving him unconditional love. But in the process of doing this, she can be horrendous for the woman.
I did talk about this to a female friend of mine and she made the point: “If the Great Mother is all-powerful, then she should be able to teach and train men how to love without causing any suffering.” I didn’t have an answer to her question, and only later worked out the reason for this. Although the Great Mother might be all powerful compared with us. There is another great power in the universe and that is the sea of chaos. Scientists claim the default setting on the whole universe is entropy where everything deteriorate and this leads to chaos. So in this way we can say the universe is ruled by a God and Goddess. Except the God is the sea of chaos, and without the protection of the Great Mother, we all would eventually drown in this chaotic sea.
This suggests the Great Mother is like a gardener. She is able to create a beautiful garden, which would be our material three dimensional universe. But like a garden, if she fails to look after it, then entropy takes over and all the order and harmony she created, breaks down into disorder and chaos. So that when baby souls who are psychopaths emerge out of the sea of chaos, they are in a very fragile state. So the Great Mother gives them a body so they’re temporary protected by the material body they inhabit, from the sea of chaos. But when the body dies, it wouldn’t take much to push them back into a sea of chaos once again. Where they have no way of protecting themselves.
The only way the Great Mother can counter the power of the sea of chaos, is through unity created by unconditional love. So unconditional love is the only way she can save and protect, new born, male souls from drowning in the sea of chaos. But although the Great Mother is all powerful as far as we are concerned, she is not all powerful when dealing with the sea of chaos. The only power she has is the power of love, but if men reject her love, then she has no power over them. When men newly come out of the sea of chaos they are vibrating on the same frequency as the sea of chaos. So when they encounter women vibrating on frequency of unconditional love. These two vibration are incompatible and so much out of tune with each other, that it can become a vibrational war. Where the love the man feels from women, feels like an attack and tries to resist it. As the vibration feels so strange to him, that he might feel he is being “love bombed” and manipulated. So he fights back the only way he knows, by using and abusing women and even sometimes murdering the woman. Not knowing that the only way he can be protected by the sea of chaos, is to accept the loving vibration of women. Because when he dies he can then accept the unconditional love of the Great Mother and be protected by her. But if doesn’t accept that love, because it feels so strange and alien to him, that he rejects it. Then the Great Mother cannot protect him and he is at the mercy of the sea of chaos.
This is why women love the worse types of men, because they are so vulnerable to drowning in the sea of chaos when they die. So the Earth has become a tough school for women, in both teaching men how to love and learning unconditional love. Because many female souls come to planet Earth to teach men how to love, but end up being taught by men; how not to love and even how to hate. So she then has to return to Earth in another lifetime and like a man has to learn how to love once again. Which means Earth, has become a school for both men and women: Men learning how to love and women learning unconditional love.
This is why some women complain that; no good deed goes unpunished. Because we do live in a world where unconditional love is not respected or understood. So it’s like what Jesus says; “your reward will be in heaven”. Because if a women retains her ability to love she can return to the Great Mother. It’s a bit like what Richard Dawkins says his book: The God Delusion:
Do you really mean to tell me the only reason you try to be good is to gain God's approval and reward, or to avoid his disapproval and punishment? That's not morality, that's just sucking up, apple-polishing, looking over your shoulder at the great surveillance camera in the sky, or the still small wiretap inside your head, monitoring your every move, even your every base thoughts.
Which means true unconditional love doesn’t need to be reward, women only give unconditional love because they care about the person they love. But it would help if women did have some support from the Great Mother. But because of patriarchal religions and atheism most women find themselves cut off from God.
Patriarchal religions encourage us to contact God through prayer and meditation. But they don’t tell women they can also communicate with God through unconditional love. This means, when a woman feels love, she is on the similar wavelength to the Great Mother. So this is the best time for women to communicate with God. But if a women is taught that God is a judgemental man, or that there is no God, then she doesn’t do this. Not knowing through unconditional love she can access the unlimited knowledge, wisdom and power of the Great Mother. Yet, even within patriarchal religions some women have somehow connected to the Great Mother, and example of this is, Emmeline Pankhurst, the Suffragette leader. She once said: Trust in God. She will provide. So in spite of living in a patriarchal world, she was in contact with the Great Mother and understood that God was a woman.
In many ancient religious teachings, the Great Mother is called, “The Terrible Mother”. And we see this in the images of the Goddess Kali as she seemed to be extremely frightening. This might be because of a misunderstanding of what is true power. Ancient religious text would probably of said that the Great Mother is all powerful. But on Earth, it is masculine power, that is what we know and understand. So to patriarchal priests a loving, feminine Great Mother who is all powerful, would be a incongruity that makes no sense to them. Not knowing that love is the most powerful force in the universe, because love unites us all in oneness. But priest didn’t understand this and for this reason, to resolve this paradox, the priests made the Great Mother more masculine, to give her the masculine power of aggression and violence.
But there is another aspect to this: What is so terrible is not the Great Mother, but ourselves, when we come face to face with her. In Christianity there is the concept of judgement, but it is impossible for the Great Mother to judge us, because she is full of unconditional love. She is like; the three wise monkeys of Buddhism: See no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. So she will never judge us, but we end up judging ourselves. When we come face to face with the overwhelming, unconditional and unwavering love of the Great Mother has for us all. Then it becomes a light that shows to us all our hatreds, fears and negativity. This then can become unbearable. Because she becomes a mirror and we see ourselves for what we really are, as we compare ourselves with her.
But even normal women can do the same with men. By just being a normal loving women in a relationship with a man. The man can through her, be aware of the hatred he feels for others, as he compares himself to her and this can be difficult for him. For this reason, some men might attack women, for the crime of being a loving person. This can also happen to loving men as well, as we read in what happened to Jesus. But the man can also hold up a mirror to the woman as well. Inside the Great Mother she lived in a sea of unconditional love and would be as unaware of this, like a fish not knowing it was swimming in water. But when a woman comes to planet Earth, she finds herself like a fish out of water. As she is living in a unloving world and meets unloving men. Then in the contrast of living with a man who barely knows how to love, she becomes very aware of her loving ways as she compares herself with him.
This is why it’s so difficult for the masculine and feminine to live with each other. It’s a bit like the joke; where a man and woman tell each other how much they love each other. The women really means it, but for the man, it just means he wants to have sex with her. The aggressive and competitive nature of men is totally at odds with the loving and caring nature of women. We see this in sex, men tend to see sex in terms of dominance and submission or even sadism and masochism. While women just see sex in terms of the giving and receiving of love. The result is that sometimes when a woman becomes very loving with a man. He might assume she is being submissive or even masochistic and totally misunderstand her motives. Which may block his understanding of what love is.
In our world there are three types of motivation. The first is the carrot; wealthy men know all about this and claim they need million dollar bonuses, to get them out of bed in the morning. This has become one of the justifications for their extreme wealth. By claiming extremely high rewards are needed to motivate them to do a good job. The second motivation is the stick; “Do this or else”. Not everyone can receive million dollar bonuses for their work, so poorer people are threatened with poverty and homeless if they don’t want to work long hours for little pay. The irony of all this, is that wealthy people have the audacity to claim they’re justified in their extreme wealth, because they work so hard. They even claim the common people are poor because they are lazy. In spite of the fact many poorer people have to work 80-100 hours or more a week, to feed and shelter themselves and their families.
Then there is a third way to motivate people and that’s through love. Women know all about this, but to many men it’s still a mystery. Although men do love cars, aeroplanes or guns. In the caring industry women are willing to work long hours for little pay, because they love the people they care for. Because of this, employers will exploit caring women because they work for love and not money. Women also are willing to work caring for their children. Back in the 1960s women of the Women’s Liberation Movement made the very radical proposal, that women should be paid to care for and look after their own children. The reason for this, is because working mothers have to give their children to professional child-minders so they can go to work. While wealthy mothers can pay a nanny to look after their children. So it makes sense that instead of paying strangers to look after a mother’s children, she can be paid to do it herself. But a sensible and logical idea like this, was completely ignored by governments. So wouldn’t it be better to motivate people through love. instead of money or threats of poverty? But that would require us to have governments of loving people which we don’t have.
What a Goddess religion can do, is help women who are trying to save extremely selfish and criminal minded men from being engulfed into the sea of chaos, when they die. These men will, “bite the hand that feeds them.” So these women do end up suffering by being abused when attempting to save these men. But a supportive religion can help give these women some protection from assault or even murder. Also, give them some understanding of what they are trying to achieve and not assume they’re crazy. Also, if the stress of a relationship like this becomes too great, the woman may need help in leaving the abusive man and letting go of him. This also might help the man as well, because sometimes we don’t appreciate what we have, until we lose it. And so by losing a loving woman it may make him be aware that he needs her love. But if he was to plead for her to go back to him and she does this. Then help must be provide for her, to leave him again, if the abuse continues in the same way. So women in attempting to save unloving men, are given the help and support they need. And this support may help prevent women learning from men, how to hate.
Another big advantage that Goddess religion is that the priestesses can communicate with the Great Mother through mediumship. All religions started this way, of someone communicating with the Great Mother. We can see this is the Bible when it says; God spoke to the Old Testament prophets. The only way this could have happened, is that these prophets were practising some form of mediumship. Unfortunately the mediumship of the Old Testament is very suspect, as they clearly weren’t in communication with the loving Great Mother. We see his in the Bible where according to Moses; God promised the land of Canaan, to the Israelites. But there was just one small problem with this; there were people living there at the time. But it was a problem that was easy fixed. The Israelites under the leadership of Joshua led the Israelites into the Promised Land, and conquered it by force. Destroying their cities and killing the inhabitants or driving them away. Which they thought was perfectly all right, because according to Moses; God said it was the Israelite’s land.
European Christians later followed this example when they conquered North and South America as well as Australia. They assumed that conquest and genocide of the indigenous people was perfectly all right, because it said so in the Bible. And anyway these people were heathens and weren’t Christians, so that was another way to justify this. But we must expect this, from a really macho aggressive male God, but not a loving Great Mother. This is the big problem in believing that God is a man, because such behaviour then becomes acceptable. This is why we need genuine mediums who are in communication with the real God, which is the compassionate and loving Great Mother. But also teach women who are not mediums to also learn to communicate with the Great Mother. To practise mediation and through that become aware of the loving presence of the Great Mother, who is able to help us, if we allow her to do that.
Today all major religions today discouraged or ban mediumship. Muslims claim that Mohammed is Allah’s, “Only Prophet.” Which means anyone else in Islam is not allowed to try and communicate with Allah. We see the same attitude in Old Testament:
There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you. Deuteronomy 18:10-12. English Standard Version.
Almost everyone today would agree we shouldn’t sacrifice children. But in our modern times we allow mediums and fortune tellers to operate. We even allow necromancy, which is just communicating with the dead, and what mediums in Spiritualist Churches do. Because it’s hard to make a case that mediums or psychics harm anyone. But the reason why religions do not like any form of mediumship, is because any person who claims to talk to god, can use it to challenge the authority of religious leaders. So religions claim that mediumship is open to fraud. Which is true, because it’s very easy for any con-men to make claims, they are in communication with God and then use it to enrich themselves.
But another reason why religions don’t like mediums is that generally women are better mediums than men. The reason for this is that women are more able to give unconditional love to others. Which the same as the Great Mother who also gives us all unconditional love. So when women feel unconditional love for others, she is on a similar wave-length to the Great Mother and is able to communicate with her. But because male priests weren’t able to do this, they tried to ban women doing this. Because they didn’t want women telling people they receive messages from God. However, if a religion doesn’t have a proper communication with the Great Mother, then it becomes an empty shell by relying on teachings written thousands years ago. But to be fair, although there are far more successful female mediums than male mediums. It has to be admitted that one of the most successful mediums in recent times has been a man, Edgar Cayce. He gave thousands of readings in his lifetime, while in a trance. So a loving man can still be a successful medium.
So it is worthwhile to have a Goddess religion where many of the priestesses are mediums. We can see this with the Quakers. In their services they have a period of silence where the congregation wait for guidance. They don’t call this period of silence, meditation, but that’s what it is. They are also allowed to speak if anything comes to mind during this time of silence. The result has been that Quakers are one of the more open-minded and tolerant Christian sects. Even though they didn’t start off that way: The reasons they are called Quakers is because it’s said; they quake in fear at the very mention of God. So it suggests it was originally a god-fearing sect; that feared hell-fire and damnation. But by allowing times of meditation and unofficial mediumship, it changed to a more tolerant and sensible sect. Buddhism also practises meditation a lot, but also doesn’t encourage mediumship. Yet because it advocates and practises meditation, it is this that also makes it one of the more tolerant and sensible religions in the world today.
There is also the Spiritualist Church which actively encourages mediumship. The problem with this Church is that it gets bogged down with people using mediums to contact their dead relations. And although this is a good thing to do, it becomes the only thing their mediums are used for. Although probably the reason for this is, is that the Spiritualist Church is heavily criticised by other Christian sects as well as by atheists. So for this reason, they are probably trying to avoid any further controversies by giving out spiritual teachings from the mediums. The Spiritualist Church also does spiritual healing, which is what other Christian sects should be doing, if it follows the teachings of Jesus. Another Christian sect that actively practises healing is Christian Science. But their type of healing, is more of the, do-it-yourself variety, which many people find extremely difficult to do.
The big problem with mediumship is fake mediums and unfortunately there are fake female mediums as well as fake male mediums. One of the ways around this. is to be aware of the true nature of God which is pure, unconditional love. So any message from God that spews hatred, anger, fear, and negativity, we can be sure is not coming from the Great Mother. Also, although a fake medium can fool people who are not mediums. It’s harder to do when mixing with genuine mediums. Another problem with mediums is that they are not always in tune with spirit. So if a medium is making a living doing mediumship, she is under pressure to perform every day. The result is that in times when she is not in tune with spirit, she is forced to fake it. But in the settings of a Goddess religion, she can say when she is not in tune with spirit and another medium can take her place.
The criticism that atheists have about mediums is that they claim they tell people, what they want to hear. But if the medium is in communication with the Great Mother which is pure positive energy, then anything she says will be positive. Which does sound like; telling people what they want to hear. But if the medium is in communication with the Great Mother, then she will find it hard to say anything that is negative about anyone or anything. She will be full of love which many people find difficult to relate to. This is because the realm of the Great Mother is an alien world to us, living on a planet where we have hate, fear, conflict and war.
But the solution to all the problems we have on our planet is love. If everyone loved each other then all the problems of conflict, crime, war and poverty would be solved. We have many rules, laws and customs in our societies because people do commit crimes. But a truly loving community would need very few rules, laws and customs simply because no-one is trying to harm or steal from anyone else. This was pointed out by Saint Augustine of Hippo in the 5th-century, where he taught: Love, and do what thou wilt. But this is only possible in a loving community.
In the 20th century Aleister Crowley changed this in his book Thelema, to: Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. And: Love is the law, love under will. I would very much agree that; Love is the law, but not; love under will. It suggests it’s the type of love that you can turn off and on, at will. Which is conditional or manipulative love. Where you love someone who is doing what you want, but turn off that love, if they are doing something you don’t like. Whereas the love we receive from the Great Mother can never be turned off. She loves us all unconditionally, no matter what we do or say. So it’s unconditional love we have to learn, if we want to enter fully into the realm of the Great Mother. So it should be: Love unconditionally shall be the whole of the law, and do what thou wilt. Because a person who has unconditional love for everyone, is not going to harm anyone and will do their best to help others. Although, as mentioned before, this can only work in a community where everyone gives genuine unconditional love to each other.
In the end we have three options: We can believe in atheism which is the belief we live in a pointless and meaningless universe and we have no existence after we die. Which is a depressing way of thinking about the world, but not as bad as some of the beliefs about male gods. Beliefs we will go to hell and receive; everlasting damnation and punishment, is far worse than the negative beliefs of atheists. This is why many people have become atheists, because of these very antagonistic religious teachings. And atheists use these teachings to help prove there is no god. But male dominated religions have misinterpreted the true nature of God and given her a bad name. The third option is to believe in a loving God, like the Great Mother who gives us all unconditional love. It seems blindingly obvious, that the third option is the best one.
But to be fair, everything about patriarchal religions is not negative. As we see with men like St Francis of Assisi who took the teachings of Jesus seriously and practised them in his own life. And he wasn’t the only one, there were many Christian priests who also did try to live their lives based on Jesus’s teaching. Even Islam had a golden age of intellectual, cultural, and scientific advancements between the 8th and 13th centuries. Even women then were respected scholars, teachers and contributed to science in this period. It only ended with the invasion of the Islamic world from the Mongols. In the chaos that followed, more authoritarian leaders took control to impose law and order. So Islam became an intolerant religion and stayed that way even since. It never returned to its golden age.
When aggressive and competitive men take control of a religion, they are unlikely to preach or practise love and forgiveness. The nearest men have come to doing this, is the Christian religion but many men find Jesus’s teachings about love too difficult and prefer to ignore them. The only way we can create a truly loving religion is for it to be ruled by loving women who communicate with the loving Great Mother. This means the teachings from the Great Mother can totally positive, full of love, compassion and understanding. And it will be far easier for priestesses rather than priests to teach and practise these teachings.
We can have a totally feminine religion where women can learn it’s alright to be feminine. Many women who have learned not to love by the patriarchal society they live in. Can go a place where a woman’s love is appreciated and encouraged. Also through love, women can join together to help and support each other and create a true sisterhood. It’s through unconditional love, women can become in tune with the Great Mother and so become one with her. Also, through the practise of meditation and channelling the unconditional love of the Great Mother, women then can become successful healers.
The point is that if the Great Mother design the Earth to become a school where men can learn how to love. But the competitive and aggressive nature of men will of course create suffering on our planet. As well as for women who try to teach these men how to love, when men are resistant to this teaching. But this is made worse, when we don’t understand why men need to learn how to love. So creating religions, which understand why we need to do this. Means women can find ways to teach men how to love with the least amount of suffering. For both the female teachers and the men they are trying to teach.
